Zillertal High-Level Road

For cyclists, the Zillertal High-Level Road, one of the must beautiful Alpine roads in Austria, is a real challenge. 70 km of asphalted mountain road with 1,800 metres of climbing take you by car or bicycle up to an altitude of 2,020 metres. There are four ascents in total, the most southerly begins in Hippach between Mayrhofen and Zell am Ziller. At the top you have a fantastic 360° panoramic view across the Inntal valley as far as the glaciated summits of the Zillertal Alps. Snack bars and mountain inns are attractive places for a panoramic refreshment break.
